About FilingsToday
FilingsToday picks out the filings investors care about most from Korean and US listed companies and turns them into short summaries built around the key numbers. Korean data comes from the public API of DART, the electronic disclosure system run by Korea's Financial Supervisory Service. US data comes from EDGAR, the filing system of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Why it exists
On a busy day Korean listed companies publish more than a thousand filings. Most are routine paperwork; only a fraction carry numbers that matter. Even then, the original documents are long forms full of tables, and finding out what a contract is worth relative to revenue, or how much operating profit changed, means opening each one. For readers outside Korea there is a second barrier: almost everything is in Korean. FilingsToday is meant to shorten that work. It does not replace the original filing; it helps you decide which filings to open first.
What it does
- Korea: sorts each day's filings into supply contracts, preliminary earnings, insider trades, 5% holder reports, buybacks, share and bond issues, M&A, and exchange actions.
- Extracts the figures that matter, such as contract value as a share of revenue or the change in operating profit, and ranks filings by size.
- Collects each company's filings from the last 12 months with a financial summary, a running total of new contracts, and staff, pay, dividend and shareholder figures from its annual report.
- United States: tracks open-market insider trades (Form 4, last 12 months) and current reports (Form 8-K) at about 1,000 of the largest companies, eight quarters of holdings (Form 13F) for 20 well-known investors, and annual results and dividends from XBRL data, with Korean won conversions.
- Offers calculators and plain-language guides to reading filings.
How the numbers are made
Card sentences are fixed templates filled with numbers taken from each filing. Companies' own descriptive text is not copied or translated. Every extracted number is checked again automatically: if contract value divided by recent revenue does not match the percentage stated in the filing, the numbers are hidden and only the filing title is shown. Amended filings are labelled and left out of the daily highlights. The data sources and methods page explains each step.
What it does not do
- It does not recommend buying or selling any security.
- It does not forecast prices or publish price targets.
- It does not publish stock price data.
- It does not run paid memberships, stock tips or chat rooms.
Who runs it
FilingsToday is run independently and is not affiliated with the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korea Exchange or the SEC. Data is refreshed automatically every day, and the site is paid for by advertising. If you spot a wrong number, please tell us and we will check and fix it.
